Community Helps 5th Graders Celebrate Math Day

The 5th grade students at Deerfield School in Mountainside were treated to a morning in school where they were shown that “Math Matters” in everyday life. Parents and grandparents presented to the Deerfield 5th graders how mathematics is utilized in their workplace.
There were presenters from all walks of life and students had the opportunity to visit multiple interactive presentations throughout the morning. Students created budgets, counted push-ups, and wrote up a check for a pizzeria to name a few of the activities.
It was an amazing learning experience for the entire 5th grade!
